The utility position, first
The tokens in the Omnichain ecosystem — including CJV — are utility instruments: they are earned through participation, held for access to platform features, and spent on services. They are not offered or sold as investments. Nothing on this site, in the whitepaper, or in the guide is financial advice, a solicitation, or a promise of profit or return. There is no expected return. If you are looking for an investment, these tokens are not it.
The risks, plainly
- Community market prices can move — including to zero. On holder-to-holder (community) markets, prices are set by buyers and sellers. A token you buy can lose some or all of its market value, and there may be no buyer when you want to sell.
- The fixed treasury price is a convention, not a guarantee. The 1 token = 1 AVAX treasury price is a pricing convention for access. It is not a guarantee of market value, not a redemption promise, and not a floor under any market price.
- AVAX itself is volatile. The ecosystem runs on AVAX. Its Canadian-dollar price moves, sometimes sharply, which affects the dollar value of everything priced in it.
- Smart contracts can contain bugs. The exchange and platform contracts have been tested and verified in live use, but no testing can prove the absence of bugs. A contract fault could affect listings, swaps, or balances.
- Swap inventory is finite. Treasury swaps at 1:1 are paid from the exchange’s own inventory of each token. That inventory can run out for a given token, in which case a swap of that size cannot be filled until inventory is restored.
- Self-custody risk is yours. You hold your own wallet and keys. If you lose your recovery phrase or your keys are stolen, your assets are gone — there is no recovery service, no password reset, and no one who can restore them, including us.
- Regulation can change. Rules affecting tokens, exchanges, and platforms can change in Canada or elsewhere, and could affect availability or how the platforms operate.
- Technology and network risks. The platforms depend on the Avalanche network, hosting infrastructure, and the internet. Outages, congestion, or failures in any of them can delay or prevent access and transactions.
- Access depends on holds. Module access on CCJV depends on your wallet’s token balance at all times. If your balance falls below a requirement, access pauses — that is the design, and it can interrupt your use of the modules.
